#23 Is this really the end? or just the beginning...

omg! this learning 2.0 has been absolutely amazing and definitely eye opening i've learnt so many things i had no idea even existed. i'm relatively young person and i should have known about these things and now thanks to this program i do so snaps to all who were involved in bringing it to all of us.
my favourite things about learning 2.0 was definitely learning about librarything, love it i add to it every time i finish what i'm reading which reminds me i have to add the choice by nicholas sparks to my catalogue- such a beautiful book took me 2 days to finish it.
anyway where as i oh thats right i also loved bloglines, podcasts (those guys on mugglecast are nuts and sometimes they seem to get a little off topic but its all good) the image generators were definitely off the hizzy.

also just wanted to mention i was watching so you think you can dance series final and they mentioned a website call jibjab.com where you download your photo and photos of your friends and they make it into funny videos. so check it out its really funny.

okay again i've waffled on but its so easy too when you get on a roll. i also want to just say that since i've learnt about blogging i'm a little addicted and i think i will continue using my blog even though the learning 2.0 is finished, now i can go bore the rest of the known universe with my ramblings.

i think i've pretty much summed up everything so i think its time for me to get back to whatever i was doing before i can't remember but i'm sure i'll find something else to do.

oh and thanks jen for letting me to take part in this learning thing.

okay i'm going for real now.

#22 Audiobooks (or "The end is in sight")

the world ebook fair site was very interesting there are so many titles, i downloaded the travelling musicians by The Brothers Grimm (what a odd little story). anyway the site was easy enough to navigate. i know alot of people love audio books and its easy to just download and listen but i still love the old fashion book.

okay thats all from me on this topic.

#21 Podcasts, Smodcasts

originally when i got up this morning i was going to work on my story that i have been working on for the past million years okay maybe 4 or 5 but it sure feels like a million seeing as how i keep changing my mind about how i want it to go. anyway i didn't end up working on it all so i decided i should continue on with week 9's activities and i must say podcasts rock.
i subscribed to a few a comic podcast where the guys sound like chipmunks (not sure if this was intentional or not), i also subscribed to a harry potter one called mugglecast( i know you must be thinking this girl is obviously a bit harry potter mad seeing how this is another thing to do with harry potter i've mentioned on my blog, well you would be right.)
there were also a couple of other ones that interested me that were about writing.
i am sure podcasts could be used in a big way in libraries, it could be used as another way to advertise things like storytimes, author visits(we could if we were really clever have a small interview or something with an author and put it on our site), some clever little possums could do book reviews, or recommended reading. podcasts could be used to promote a lot of things in a different way.

okay i think i've waffled on long enough and maybe i will find the time in my busy schedule to write at least one chapter of my story and try and complete my next assignment for my writing course(i think it may be a bit late.)

okay later gators.

#20.5 You too can Youtube revisited

okay i had another look on youtube and there are so many get videos there were a couple really cute and funny happy feet ones on there- one was gangsta gangsta happy feet where some tricksy little hobbit makes it look like the penguins are singing and dancing to a rap song. so cute.
the one i really like though was one that my cousin caitlin showed me a while ago.
its a harry potter one that is very funny but be warned it kind of gets stuck in your head.

#20 You too can YouTube

youtube looks good but i can't get any sound on the computer at work so i might try this exercise again at home and have a better look at youtube and post a video on my blog that i like.
so cheerio for now.

#19 Discovering web 2.0 tools

okay i found this site in fun stuff called one sentence and i thought it was really cute. you tell a story about in anything in one sentence. i really liked how easy it was to use i don't know it has any use in a library setting unless patrons want to do a book review in one sentence but anyway.

http://www.onesentence.org/

check it out for yourself.

#18 Web based apps: They're not just for desktops

i had a look at Zoho Writer and it look really cool. you can add all sorts of things like little emotion face things. you can put the document straight on your blog or whatever it is fantastic.
i'll definitely have to use this zoho thing a bit more.

#17 Playing around with PBwiki revisited

finally i added my blog to the wiki site. yay me.

#17 Playing around with PBwiki

okay i tried like a million times (okay maybe 3 times) to add my blog to the favourites blog on the PBwiki Learning 2.0 wiki but i couldn't, because some delightful person was editing the page and only one person at a time can do that and they wouldn't get off. bugger.

anyway i will try again later.

#16 So what's in a wiki?

okay ive been to the wikipedia site before and thought it was really good, then i found out that any one can add change or edit anything on the site. before a few weeks ago i didn't even know what a wiki was (until i googled it) but they are amazing little specimens of technology-hood.
i realise that isn't even a word but whoop di do basil don't care.

so basically what i'm trying to say is that wikis rock, fabulous, wonderful, off the hizzy.
whatever

okay i'm going now.

#15 On Library 2.0 and Web 2.0

i think libraries are fairly good with keeping up with changes in technology and client demands and there probably will be a times when patrons will prefer an e-book rather thana hold- in- you hand -smell -the- ink on the pages book. there are many more technologies that libraries are using for better clients services such as the internet, and there are so many sites that are being introduced to all of us on this learning 2.0 that no doubt we could teach out patrons how to use them if they don't already know.
with all the technology out there you can't beat a good old fashioned book.

well i think i've rambled on enough time for the next activity.

Technorati

Technorati Profile

#14 Getting not-so-technical with Technorati

okay technorati is another site that i have never heard of before but looks pretty interesting and there are so many blogs. using a keyword search you get a lot more hits than you do when you search tags, which must be a much more refined search. but it is interesting all the same. its a lot of fun finding out about new things and getting to have a look at them and use them.

#13 Tagging, folksomies and Social bookmarking in Del.icio.us

okay another thing i've never heard of before is Del.icio.us but it looks and sounds pretty interesting and i think i'm gonna have to create my own account to give a little order to my bookmarks. it looks like a very easy way to access bookmark and it probably does have the potential to help with research, it would certainly make getting to certain pages much easier.

#12 Roll your own search engine with Rollyo

firstly i have never heard of rollyo before but it is really quite interesting and it makes searching the sites you regularly visit so much easier.
i created my own search roll that is down the bottom of my blog.
i think there is great potential for tool like rollyo and a lot of people seem to use it.

#11 All about LibraryThing

omg! librarything is fantastic i think i got a little carried away and added a whole lot of books that i've read or that i personally own. library thing is so easy to use i love it. all you need is a username and password and then you can go forth and add book to your library till your hearts content.

#10 Play around with image generators

okay i had so much fun doing this weeks activity, image generators are fantastic.

here is what i came up with hope whoever looks at my blog gets a kick out of it.

also here is the link to get to the image generator site:

#8 make life "really simple" with RSS and newsreader

okay i think i have completed week four activity and i have to admit i think i have a technology crush on this bloglines thing. it is amazing, i can subscribe to whatever feed i like and once you get the hang of it, it is really simple to use. i always wondered what rss was and what that little orange box was for. now i know. i'm learning stuff. yay me.

okay now i think i have the next part done as well providing the url or whatever to my public bloglines. lets see if i'm clever.

# 7 blogging about technology

Okay i may be a little behind on this but anyway, i have decided to blog about mobile phones well mine in particular. i have a new phone called a hiptop3 i've had for a littel while and i'm still getting used to it. but i think it is great my dad hates it he thinks its stupid but anyway.
its not like alot of the mobiles on the market these days you the ones that are like about a 5 cm or whatever -(like the phone on zoolander) its like a brick compared to those phones anyway the screen swivels out and it has a qwerty keyboard so its like a mini computer that i can check my email on, use is as a mp3 player and it does all the regular functions like calls and texting and stuff when i actually figured out how to make calls that is. so i really can't live without my phone.
okay i think i've waffled on long enough.

#6 more flickr fun

Okay hopefully today I am more successful at doing this post than I was yesterday.

I had never even heard of mashups before starting this Learning 2.0 so I'm learning alot of new things which is great. I found a mashup thingy called Amazon Zuggest which is mix between Google suggest and Amazon and whats really cool about it is that it searches for what you want as you are typing. Now that is awesome.

#5 Flickr

I've just been on the Flickr site again and had a really good look and this site is pretty amazing. Some of the pictures are so beautiful. I found this one picture which was so adorable, it's a black and white picture of a girl holding an umbrella. The link is http://www.flickr.com/photos/7467145@N03/1385397026/. Definitely check it out if you can.
There are so many things you can do on Flickr its fantastic and so many things you can do with your photos that I've never even thought of before like making calendars or stamps or photo books you can also create an account and put on a map where the picture was taken.
I knew that tags are what you use to label photos and groups are where you can share photos and have discussions. Its also pretty cool that libraries all over the world use Flickr to share photos and images about their library and the different things that are going on.

My first blog

Finally I've figured out how to set up my blog I've been a bit slow but hopefully I'll catch up.
I'm sure this learning 2.0 is going to be really interesting and I hope to learn a lot more about blogs, wikis and other great things on the web. I have a myspace and a facebook but I haven't made a blog on either site but maybe now that I'm learning how to blog I can.
